I shave my bikini area but leave most of the top and the lips–I only shave what shows when you wear a bikini. The other day my bf went down on me–and the next morning he told me that I should shave my vagina—I said "I liek it like this..besides it’s not like i’m hairy, i keep it clean and trimmed and shaved around" and he says he wants it all to be shaved because it hurts his mouth! I really don’t wnat to shave all of it, it is annoying, I hate the itch and the bumps too much upkeep. So my question is, is this the norm now? Is this what guys expect of women these days?

I personally don’t mind if there is a little hair down there. Normally you push it apart and then go do the business, it sounds like his just going in without moving them apart… hair normally doesn’t grow on the inside

Tell him that you’ll shave it all off if he’ll shave it all off. Make it an all or nothing deal.. Make him shave first too, if he agrees.

Don’t do something you don’t want to do. Tell him that it really irritates you when you have to keep shaving and that you it doesn’t really make your comfortable. If he doesn’t like it, maybe he should deal with it or not go down?

ya i think it is becoming a part of want guys are expecting from girls this days because i had a boyfriend who say just about the said just about the same thing!! and yes it’s the norm now for some guys depends on the age!!

Don’t shave it if you don’t want to. I am sure it is uncomfortable and it hurts. Plus if you do it now you will regret it later.

I say, follow the general rule. Dont do something or feel obligated to do something your boyfriend wants you to do-especially if you’ve already told him no. If he keeps asking, well homie has to hit the curb because he’s not respecting your decisions about your own body. To some guys, being completely shaved is more sexy. I personally prefer to be that way myself. But give it a shot…and if you feel that you still dont like it, then dont do it. You were right on one thing though, its a lot of upkeeping.

While the Brazilian style wax (removing all the hairs rather than those that would show when wearing a bikini) has gained in popularity since a certain Sex and the City episode.
However, the choice to go bare down there, is always ours, and should never be made for anyone other than ourselves.
The women I’ve known who have gone Brazilian say it’s very freeing and makes them feel extra sexy, but that it was NOT painless, and they would be unlikely to do it again.
Shaving, while an option, would be much more likely to cause bristly hairs for your boyfriend to complain about than being natural.
You might consider a compromise and just "trim" the area to see how you like it. Leaving shorter, groomed hairs.
But don’t do it for him. Do it for you.
People who love you do not pressure you into things.
